2002-11-03 homage to Simon Le Bon & Paul Weller

oh the weekend.

Had a four hour long conversation on ICQ on Friday night, it was the best conversation Ive had, well, since the last time I had a really long conversation with that person- which was a long time ago.

What can you possible talk about for four hours? you ask.

something like this:

High tide - mid afternoon

People fly by in the traffics boom

Knowing - where you're blowing

Getting to where you should be going.

Don't let them get you down

Making you feel guilty about

Golden rain bring you riches

All the good things - you deserve now.

Climbing forever trying

Find your way out - of the wild wild wood

Now theres no justice

There's only yourself - that you can trust in

And I said - high tide mid afternoon

People fly by in the traffics boom

Knowing - just where you're blowing

Getting to where you should be going.

Day by day your world fades away

Waiting to feel - all the dreams that say

Golden rain will bring you riches

All the good things - you deserve now - and I say

Climbing forever trying

Find your way out - of the wild wild wood

That song reminds me of the conversation, it was amazing, the most beautiful headspin.

Luckily I had time to mull over it on Saturday by myself and when I got to Sunday I was all in a tizz over what the fuck is going on in my brain.

After speaking to the beautiful Al about it I sat down and put my face in a pillow and the storm broke- 5 minutes later G walked in, lucky, because this needs to be hidden.

Did the usual Sunday supermarket shop and on the way every second song playing in the car reminded me of something to cry over but I kept myself together.

I decided that despite what I thought was my better judgement I could'nt listen to Paul Weller all afternoon so I went out and bought something to balance it out.

So began the process of Jo getting her mojo back.

For hours I was sashaying my way around Edinburgh streets, slipping on auburn and blonde autumn leaves on the ground- loving them both the same, kicking them into the air and watching them settle again all the time singing harmonies to....

"I light my torch and wave it for the new moon on Monday..."

crazy girl having the time of her life to Duran Duran.

If anyone is in Edinburgh and witnessed this- Im truly sorry, I understand that you may need help to get over it.

Im way passed the point of trying to impress people with my music taste, this is personal, this is about having a giggle with it. This is about getting the magic back.

Im not going to let this fuckin' funk ruin me.

A quote:

"And remember. Just relax, breath deeply and put on your funky magic goggles. See you funky girl"

yes indeedy
